
The Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku has pleaded with members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to call off their strike and return to the classroom in the interest of the students and the nation.
Mr Maku made the appeal at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, where he delivered a paper on the transformation agenda of the present administration.
The Minister who was reacting to a question on the prolonged strike by ASUU said it was difficult for government to meet one hundred percent demands of any sector in view of the competing demands in various sectors.
He explained that the present administration had within three years of its existence, tried to address accumulated problems it inherited from previous administrations.
Mr Maku cited some of the successes already recorded to include restoration of railway sector, agriculture, power and the petro-chemical.
